Cannabidiol is one ingredient on a list
In cosmetics the cannabidiol is printed for the whole pack: 200 mg in a 50 ml cream. The rest of the list is carriers, oils and water — and they are what makes the product what it is. So two creams compare both by milligrams per millilitre and by the full list of ingredients.
Hemp oil on the list is not cannabidiol
Cannabis sativa seed oil is hemp seed oil: food for the skin with practically no cannabidiol in it. Cannabidiol is written as cannabidiol, or as an extract of flower and leaf. A product whose list holds only seed oil is not CBD cosmetics, however green the packaging.
Frequently asked questions
How much cannabidiol is in the cream?
It is printed for the whole pack, usually between 50 and 500 mg. To compare two products, divide the milligrams by the millilitres — then 200 mg in 30 ml and 200 mg in 100 ml stop looking alike.
Is a hemp oil cream the same as a CBD cream?
No. Cannabis sativa seed oil on the list is hemp seed oil — a carrier oil for the skin with practically no cannabidiol in it. A CBD cream contains cannabidiol, listed as cannabidiol or as a flower-and-leaf extract, with its milligrams on the pack.
Is there THC in cosmetics?
With broad spectrum and isolate, no. With full spectrum there are traces below the legal limit. The spectrum is printed on the product page, and the batch report lists what was found.
Can it go around the eyes?
Only if the maker says so: eye-contour products are made with a different carrier and a different strength. The other packs say face or body, and that is not a formality.
